A fresh chapter in a Stilbaai original
Newly renovated accommodation in the historic harbour area of Stilbaai West.
Welcome to Stilbaai Harbour Inn - A Quiet Place to Dock.
Originally built as a boarding house in 1940, this character-filled building has been given a fresh start under new ownership. Thoughtfully renovated into a bright and welcoming coastal guesthouse, the Inn offers a comfortable place to stay just a few 100 metres from the beach and harbour.
Whether you’re here for a weekend away, family holiday, romantic escape or a few slower days beside the sea, we hope you’ll feel at home from the moment you arrive.

A quiet place to dock
There’s something about Stilbaai that makes it easy to slow down.
Start the morning with a walk to the beach. Wander down to the harbour for a cup of coffee. Spend the afternoon exploring the river or simply find somewhere in the sun and stay a little longer than planned.
Back at the Inn, cool off in the swimming pool, settle in around the braai area, relax outside or retreat to the comfort of your room.
We’ve kept things comfortable, welcoming and uncomplicated - giving you an easy place to come home to between everything there is to see and do.

Meet your hosts
Alex & Ronel Ponot
We’re an adventurous American-French-South African family whose story began in California, where yachts, surfing and wine first brought us together.
Our shared love of hospitality has taken us on a remarkable journey - from California to Oregon, where we ran a coastal motel for several years, and then to the Dordogne in France. After 24 years abroad, our search for a slower pace and a close-knit community in which to raise our children led us to Stilbaai.
Not long after arriving, we purchased a 100-year-old boarding house and lovingly transformed it into Stilbaai Harbour Inn.
